Offering a classic mix of contemporary island style and airy living spaces, Villa Gaillac is a wonderful retreat for a laid-back getaway in St. Barts. Rustic, wooden furnishings contrast with the clean white design and luxurious furnishings providing creature comforts. Touches of exotic artwork, colorful cushions, and island décor add extra character. With a wonderful location above the Manapany Hotel, Villa Gaillac puts the beauty of St. Barts at your feet. The views take in the rugged north coast of St. Barts, stretching from St. Jean to Pointe Milou. Best of all, the beach is a 5-minute drive, while shops and restaurants are 10 minutes by car. Villa Gaillac is designed for graceful outdoor living. Cooling island breezes wash through the entire home, making the spacious great room a lovely place to spend some time. This room combines the living room, kitchen, and indoor dining room and is air-conditioned. The entire room benefits from the incredible ocean views. The living room in particular puts them front and center, best enjoyed from the comfort of the soft sofas. Elegant wooden furnishings throughout the space give it a tropical aesthetic. Island breezes also cool the large, open main room, which includes the living room and the functional kitchen with its breakfast island, as well as an indoor dining table set in a corner by the windows and benefits from the beautiful views. Next to the living area is Villa Gaillac’s functional kitchen. Chic white cabinetry and a handsome breakfast bar with wooden stools make this space a pleasure to cook in. The indoor dining table completed the great room, set in a corner by the large windows, framing the shimmering Caribbean Sea. It’s a wonderful spot to gather for a meal, and there’s a covered table as well for alfresco meals. The 4 bedrooms at Villa Gaillac are wonderfully laid-back, with a minimalist décor and wonderful artworks adorning the walls. The first bedroom is in a separate bungalow behind the outdoor dining area. This is a smaller room than the other two but comes with the same amenities and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. Just a few steps up from the main deck is a second bungalow, which houses the two master bedrooms that both fully benefit from the views. These rooms are nearly equal, with one having a slightly larger shower in the ensuite bathroom that can fully open to the outside. The fourth bedroom is situated below the villa and could be considered a third master bedroom, with a couch and gorgeous ocean views. All the rooms have a King-sized bed. The outdoor areas at Villa Gaillac are centered around the old Gaiac tree, which the villa derives its name from by using the old Creole spelling. The tree was severely damaged by hurricane Irma but is steadily growing back. This beautiful, endemic tree, with its pretty purple flowers, wraps around a small bench by the pool. The terrace is also home to several seating options, all of which are kept cool by the constant breezes. Whether you’re hosting an evening cocktail hour or sunbathing by the pool with a good book, Villa Gaillac offers unparalleled outdoor living spaces.
