Stepping inside Villa Jade, you’ll immediately appreciate the owners’ eye for a striking design. The interiors are a tribute to Asia, its discreet traits of modernity and timelessness, coaxing you to relax. The entire home is a utopia; serene and effortlessly cool, successfully blending the East with the West.  Set on the hillside of Marigot, Villa Jade evokes a sense of island whimsy with its ocean views. Your gaze will be drawn across the sparkling Marigot Bay, with Turtle Island sitting offshore. The beach is a 5-minute drive down the hill, with shops and restaurants around 10 minutes away. Upon entering the villa the Asian influence becomes apparent: a small wooden bridge straddles a pond of water lilies and reeds where koi carp peacefully swim. This is bordered on one side by a wall of pebbles over which water cascades, creating a bubbling, Zen-like atmosphere. Two 17th-century samurai soldiers guard the huge living area, where 14 black, fringed Moi lamps hang at varying heights to fabulous effect. There’s a pair of luxurious sofas to kick back on and take it all in, admiring the Asian décor, natural woods, and magnificent views. Everything from the television cabinet to the kitchen stools was custom-made for the villa. Foodies will fall in love with the chef-level kitchen at Villa Jade. The dining table sits on the covered terrace outside, overlooking the pool and the Caribbean Sea beyond. The 8 bedrooms at Villa Jade are equally as impressive as the rest of the villa – you’ll remember this property long after you’ve returned home. The master bedroom is spectacular. Above a carpet of black pebbles, an enormous bed made from open slats of wenge wood is the centerpiece of the room. The Hermes orange headboard was meticulously created by the famous Alexandre Mareuil in Bordeaux. Three more bedrooms are set inside private cottages, each decorated with a specific theme of Asian culture. The soft beds promise a wonderful night’s sleep. There are two more bedrooms designed for kids, with bright pink walls. The eighth room is ideal for staff or a live-in nanny. The icing on the cake is the enchanting views from Villa Jade’s outdoor terrace. Taking in Marigot Bay and the offshore Turtle Island, your gaze will constantly be drawn to the horizon, spying out luxury yachts as they cruise by. There’s plenty of plush seating in sun and shade; day beds, lounge areas, and sunbathing beds all offer comfortable spots to kick back and take it all in. The striking pool is also tempting, its black, mirror-like tiles create superb lighting effects both day and night. During the Thanksgiving and December holidays, the villa rents at full occupancy rates regardless of how many bedrooms are used.
